I love these words spoken by Jesus. The context of this sentence is Jesus teaching how we must remain in him – remain in his love. How we are branches attached to him, the vine. He provides everything we need to grow. Without him, he declares boldly, we can do nothing.
I don’t know about you, buy I like the idea of COMPLETE JOY. I like that I don’t have to do it on my own – that Christ works with me. In everything.
And right now, one of the things that is bringing me the most JOY, is hearing my kids repeat all of their memorized scripture. My heart overflows with joy as I listen to them say without being prompted or asked. Whether it be at the dinner table or just going about their day, I am in awe of God’s work in their hearts.
I’ve been memorizing the book of JAMES for the past several weeks (more on that soon.) For practice I have been reciting the first chapter from memory to the kids before they go to sleep every night. While I never intended this to happen, they have been absorbing it so much that they can recite quite a bit of it themselves (X more than E). What an unexpected blessing!
Seriously, in this, my JOY is complete!
