This is an update from my post a couple weeks ago about “K”.
We met Tuesday with everyone involved in her care. During this time, however, Ry and I discovered a deal breaker.
Not getting along with other children……more specifically violence.
So, sadly, we will move on as many other families in the past have. We know God has a home for her, it just isn't ours.
Thanks to all our friends and family who joined us in praying for this decision.
how challenging and time consuming documenting every detail of the day is.
But if I didn't have my camera in hand 24/7 I probably wouldn't have captured this:

Every year.
The same week.
Documenting every detail.
Taking hundreds of pictures.
Sharing my life.
Reflecting on the beauty of the everyday.
Let the adventure begin.
Saturday was a raing cold day in San Antonio. Great day to scrapbook and hang out at the house. I went to the church for my Real Life Scrapbooking from 9am12. I didn't get a lot of SB pages done but I had a terrific time!
I was uber excited about Heidi. She hadn't scrapbooked before and wanted to only observe initially. She jumped in and made her own version of my sample page. She embraced it. She surrendered to the idea she may be creative and she left inspired. How awesome!

Saturday night was Girls Night. I was very excited for this….I needed it. I was getting ready to leave at 6:30 pm when the tears began pouring from X. Finally she gathered herself up enought to tell me why she was crying.
“Mommy, you're never home at night anymore to read me stories”
Ouch. I did have to work a lot of 117 and 210 shifts this week…..but still, that stung!
I begin to question, Was I wrong for leaving 45 minutes before bedtime? Was there anyway to change how many nights I work? Am I a bad mom? Man, I hate my job sometimes…..
Today redeemed things a bit though. After church and 2nd breakfast X went to see if her neighbor friend could play. They ended up playing (under my supervision) from 11a4:30p. For X, it was the “best of both worlds” with her friend there and me there providing new activities for them every 10 minutes when their attention span ran out. Seriously.

As for E, he had a pretty good weekend. Good sleeping, good eating, good playing on his own. He is now going up and down the stairs like its nothing. I'll turn around and he'll be gone…down the stairs (with a toy) playing in the dining room.
I was pretty excited about this picture I snapped off today. Normally I take at least 58 pictures of the same thing to get 1 worthy picture. This one was a “one & only” and the most super part is that (if you look very closely) you can see my reflection in his eyes!

p.s. I was motivated to take the picture soley because his face had ketchup on it (for Aunt Kara).
have you hugged your nuby today?

Have your posed like a model?

Did you eat pink pancakes for dinner?
If so, your Valentine's day was complete.
As was mine.
The pills are no longer.

We are thrilled with this new development here in the Newcom house. So far, so good.
