HAPPY NEW YEAR!
(While in the bathtub tonight)
K: We're not going to fix your hair tonight since you'll go swimming again tomorrow……ok, hair is clean, let's get out and dried off.
X: Can I just lie back and chill while you go make coffee or something?
K: Uhhh….yeah. That's cool, I do need some coffee.
X: I thought so.
It's been a great Christmas day around the Newcom house.
The kids were beside themselves with presents. Seriously. Every time we thought we had finished unwrapping….we found more.
The funny part is that, as some of you know, the kids received many donated gifts from “Santa” since they are still children in foster care. We provided a wish list to Arrow Project and they distributed it out to charities so that the children were sure to have gifts. This made for a ton of presents and quite a few duplicates.
X: What is this Santa doing? Didn't he remember he already bought me this?
R: He forgot to check you off his list so he got you double gifts.
K: That's okay, we'll just take it back to the store and get something else.
X: No, if Santa got me two then he really wants me to have both.

Several favorites for the day:
*X, Ry, and myself taking a nap on X's bed in the afternoon
*The joy in X's voice as she walked into my Pharmacy carring coffee cake for those working and said, “Merry Christmas everyone!” Ah, the joy of giving.
*Getting to see the family in Indiana through the webcam.
*E's new shoes
*X reading (yes, I said reading) Green Eggs and Ham tonight before bed.

Starbucks. Our new Christmas Eve tradition.
Yes, this is her own cup (of hot chocolate that she refers to as “coffee”).
And this is for Grandma in Florida. Thanks for the great Christmas outfits!

I love having two terrific moms to shop with, have Starbucks with, do laundry with, wash dishes with, to stay up late baking with, and to have a great time with.
